The deal with TNX.net

What I want to talk about today is a text link program that has been sweeping the web. TNX.net is a system that allows advertisers to advertise on tons of sites instantly and publishers to make extra money! Sound to good to be true? Well read on, and I’ll explain what the program and all the “hype” is about!

The first thing that I noticed upon coming to the TNX website was the design. It’s a simplistic design that is quite attractive. Everything is laid out nicely and the user count of 45,000+ means it isn’t some two bit start-up. And as you can see from the Alexa Graph below the site has been gaining popularity fast (with a rank of around 11,000 at the time of this review)!

When you actually register for the website you get into the control panel. The nice thing is that advertiser and publisher accounts are combined into one panel. This allows for easy user navigation and interface use.

TNX has its own “currency” of TNX Points. These can be sold and are used to buy links on other peoples websites. Currently the price for 1000 points is $0.75 - 1.56 depending on the quantity you buy (the basic price is currently $ 1.48).

In terms of selling TNX points, you can sell 50% of your current point balance per day (either to members, or for a flat rate back to TNX). The minimum withdraw is a very reasonable $5.

Publishers

For publishers the main advantage TNX has is that you can sell links on all your different pages. But how do you actually do that? TNX offers numerous types of code and ways to put the code on your page. The one comment I have here is that some webmasters aren’t as code savvy as others. Since PHP is the simplest code the offer, it could cause some problems for webmasters that don’t understand the code or some of the issues that can be caused by it (ex. Where to put it).

As a publisher you earn TNX points based on links bought from your website. If you have a good quality site, with a good Google PageRank, its very possible to rank up a good amount of points quickly (establishing a decent revenue stream)!

To add a site to the program you just need to enter it an have it approved to sell links on it. Its easy and approval is fairly fast.

Advertisers

For advertisers, TNX offers the opportunity of advertising on hundreds upon thousands of websites for a fairly cheap price. The way the system works is you bid on factors, the better the site ranks for those factors (Ex. PR) the more it costs to advertise on the website.

Referrals

TNX does have a referral program. It gives you 13.3% of all points made by a referred publisher. For advertisers it gives you 5% of the points they spend advertising on TNX.

Free Points!

As a helper for all new TNX members they are giving away 5000 free points. Follow the link here to read more about it!

To Sum It Up

TNX works for Some people. It doesn’t work for everyone. Also Google (the big G) frowns upon this type of link buying and penalizes sites that sell the links accordingly. So before you publish on TNX you have to weigh the risks. As with any publisher/advertiser program, it fits some peoples niche perfectly and completely misses other peoples. In terms of rating, I would personally give it a “recommended” status. This means that I would recommend others to try it out and if it doesn’t work just move on. Its not revolutionary but it is worth taking a look at.

  1. I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.

  2. Google will penalize any site that doesn’t enforce corporate greed. txn sounds like a pretty good program.

  3. Thanks for posting more info on TNX. Are you planning on trying it out, or do you know of anyone who has. I would love to get some feedback from users before I do it.

  4. I have tried it, and honestly, I’m mixed. I’ve never actually published for them, but did signup and use their 5000 free credits for free advertising. You should definitely do that at least!

In terms of me being mixed. The reason is I’m not sure how well that traffic converted (used them on another site before I put on comprehensive statistic reporting programs).

Then again, as I said, these types of programs work for some people and don’t work for others. It all matters your niche etc…

  5. What about http://www.wmtips.com/tools/paid-links-detector/ ?

  6. Trying to see the link, but to me the link seems to be broken….. ill try again later and edit this comment if it works.

  7. hmm…sounds nice and interesting. This is maybe my another opportunity to make some extra money on the internet so that I can pay my internet bill without delay. Good stuff!!
