Sunday Stats #4 - March 02, 2008
Sunday Stats time! I’ve decided to make some changes to Sunday Stats. I feel goals that were not achieved were just being dead weight. So I’ve changed the format. Sunday Stats will be a comparison of change from one week to the other, and then will set a strongpoint to focus on for that week. This allows for optimal efficiency as the one strong point should be completed while the others should remain constant, giving for a general strengthening of the brand and the blog.
So without further ado, here were last weeks stats:
- Alexa Rank: 312,456
- Technorati Rank: 705,807
- Unique Visitors: 1,011
- RSS subscribers: 22
And here are this weeks stats:
- Alexa Rank: 312, 456
- Technorati Rank: 487,964
- Unique Visitors: 866
- RSS subscribers: 24
As you can see, everything went up besides the Alexa rank which stayed stable, and the number of unique visitors. The unique visitors is fine, my goal for this week was to keep up a level of 750 uniques/week. Obviously I exceeded this goal.
So this weeks target is simple, maintain all the above stats while breaking the 27 RSS mark (I broke it this week but the contest ended and subscriptions fell down). I added a subscribe option after each post and expect to start to see that help out my RSS. Also I want to get to 900 unique visitors per week. I plan on increasing my EntreCard dropping and advertising to get the site better known.
I feel as both visitors and RSS increase the other two ranks will follow. In terms of earnings, I earned around 13 cents off referrals this week but did gain some more to a few affiliate networks.
The PayPerPlay banner I have up isn’t converting well at all (20 clicks but no conversions), so I’m going to take it down soon if it doesn’t start to pay off (its meant to be a placeholder). One thing I’m puzzled by is why no one wants to advertise on MoneyBites. Honestly, its $5/month for a few thousand uniques and some really good exposure. Get them while they’re hot!
