Interview with Jeremy Schoemaker Aka. Shoemoney

So, I got an interview with Jeremy Schoemaker. For those that don’t know him he’s the author of Shoemoney a huge blog in the niche. I asked him a couple questions and here’s what he had to say:

Me: What was your first successful website that EARNED for you?

Shoemoney (Jeremy): Auctionads aka shoppingads.com. We started the site March of 07 and sold the company 4 months later in July. EDIT: nextpimp.com was also one of the first successful sites.

Me: What affiliate program works best for you and WHY

Shoemoney (Jeremy): It really depends on what we are doing at the time. With our new Mixed martial arts site there are programs on commission junction that are a good fit. I currently like the AzoogleAds and Rocketprofit programs the best.

Me: What makes YOU stand out from every other make money online blogger?

Shoemoney (Jeremy): Well first of all I dont really think of myself as a make money online blogger. My blog makes pretty bad revenues compared to the time investment vs our other business interests. I guess a reason people read shoemoney.com is because of transparency. I would say a huge portion of people who talk about making money online have never done it. I pretty much walked people through step by step how to make hundreds of thousands a month with ppc and then with AuctionAds I shared a lot of the secrets of launching one of the most diversified and successful advertising platforms ever. I mean everyone has theories and talks behind a computer about how to make money but how many actually do what they say? How many are just selling a “persona”.

Me: What’s the most common mistake individuals trying to earn online make in your opinion, is this easily fixed?

Shoemoney (Jeremy): Most people buy these ebooks about getting rich overnight.

Me: EBooks or Etrash? Do all those e-books floating around really tell you (the reader) anything you don’t already know?

Shoemoney (Jeremy): I think all ebooks are good TBH. For me just reading about techniques and tactics gets my motor going. It doesnt even have to be anything remotely close to what the author is trying to say. Its also why I attend a lot of conferences. I RARELY get anything out of the conference themselves but just being around people and talking shop for 5 days always stirs ideas.

Me: Is making a living online a realistic goal for most people in your opinion?

Shoemoney (Jeremy): Sure its a realistic goal.

Me: Any parting words of advice for the “average joe” who wants to earn online?

Shoemoney (Jeremy): The odds of you being successful are not very likely but with passion and determination its obviously possible. So what are you waiting for?

I’d like to extend a big thank you to Shoemoney for taking the time out of his day to give these few answers and inspiring words. He is a guy you want to hear from about things like this so take what he says seriously! I look forward to possibly doing a follow up piece in the future and I hope you all enjoyed this, I know I did!

Shoemoney is absolutely right about a lot of the points he made. Ebooks and all of the ‘get rich quick’ garbage is a scam and should be avoided.

I agree with all the garbage out there telling everyone how to get rich quick. Its not that easy, I’ve promoted a lot of affiliate programs and haven’t made a dime on most of them. The get rich promise in 30 days???? Stay away from them.

There is no way to get rich QUICK, it all takes hard work. If it says get rich in like a week, its the “gurus” that are writing the book that get rich from you buying it…
