Fridays Musings
So, it’s a Friday. We all love Fridays, time for a laugh, and looking forward to the weekend. So I thought why not take it easy today and just share some of my thoughts with you instead of a whole long post.
So, I wrote a whole post about Entrecard yesterday, and to my surprise got a comment from Graham, the founder. He of course disagreed with what I said, so I think it will be interesting to see who’s right in the future, the sceptic or the optimist (in this case I’m the sceptic).
As some of you may know I installed OIOpublisher this week and have loved it so far. It has helped me sell my ad space effectively. There are two links for $3/month left and two banners at $10/month left at the time I’m posting this. Don’t delay, these will go like hotcakes. Especially with April being a big month (spoiler later this post).

So April is a big month for this blog. Not only does my birthday lie in April but I’m planning a larger contest for this blog. Just a hint, it has over $750 of prizes donated so far, and hopefully more to come. So all you loyal readers be ready for it

I am having problems selling ad space on my blog. I get pretty decent traffic daily and have over 80 feed readers and an Alexa rank under 150,000.
I was trying out Digital Folders to sell my ad space but so far haven’t received a thing. Should I try OIOPublisher? If I do how long does it normally take to fill the spots up? Thanks
Well Jonathan. It costs $37. I would highly recommend it regardless. I bought it and sold all my $5 ad spaces within the day.
If you’re ad spaces are reasonably priced, I’d be happy to help you sell one (I’m affiliated with OIOpublisher and I think they would buy one, or I might).

I have received my first order after 2.5 months on my first blog.
Anyway, don’t request high price for your ads at beginning. Many popular blogs requesting about $1.5 CPM (Cost Per Mile) value. But you can low your price at beginning.
Good way is to promote it by post with some kind of “promotional action”, where potential advertisers will get low price for good and quality ad spot on your site.

I agree with Bosh Bosh. Set your price lower at first. Its what I did. Better to sell all your spots at $5 each then have no spots sold at $30 each. Know what I mean.
Promotions are great for showing people how great your ad space is. Giveaways of a spot or two for a month never hurt….. (Heck, you won one of mine at the beginning….)
I think what I am going to do is place my banner ad at the top right and put four 125×125 ad spaces in my sidebar to start off. Maybe some time this weekend Mattaw I can get with you on possibly getting set up with OIOpublisher, because digital folders sets their own price and I would like to get all the money
