Finding the right Niche

So with the contest drawing to a close, there are only a measly 9 entries. That means you have phenomenal chances to win great products. Join now!
So, today’s post will focus on how to find the perfect niche to promote in. A lot of people say, “I’m going to earn online!”, just to come up shorting thinking of a niche to market in.
So, how do you pick that perfect niche? Well it takes time to determine what niche you truly fit in. You’ll probably need to dabble in some other niches also. You need to figure out what works for you and what doesn’t.
Honestly there are also some niches that I’d plain stay away from. This is because the big boys have locked them up (like ringtones with ShoeMoney). They have a bigger budget than you and have the technique down pat. They can run you into the ground without blinking.
This brings us to another problem. How do you spot potential. Well you can read the make money online blogs (like this one) and hope to get some useful tips. You can also do a personal test. This is the test where you ask yourself, “would I buy this product..”.
If your answer is no, move on. If you won’t buy it for a blatantly obvious reason besides the fact that you purely don’t like it, chances are others won’t like it to for that factor. Find a product that’s right for you.
Next, how easy is it to promote. One of the reasons your niche may be untouched is because it costs a fortune to promote or there isn’t the demand. Look up some stats to tell you these things. You should also ask yourself, “Do I feel comfortable promoting this?”, if you don’t, drop it!
How over saturated is your niche? If there are tons of people in your niche you have two options. You can jump on the band wagon and battle it out for a little piece of the pie (like paid survey leads) or you can ditch and find a new industry.
A problem that many people have is that the number of choices of niches to pick will start to shrink. When this starts to happen, don’t get desperate. There are other industries out there, and if you’ve exhausted your options just pick the best fit.
Choosing the right niche helps guarantee success due to the fact that you feel confident in what your doing. Finally, persevere with your niche. Unless there are solid facts to show its going down the tube, stick in there for some time and don’t bail at the first opportunity. Like anything most people that sick it out get some sort of reward (again, this is if you personally feel the niche is a good one to be in).

You are right. I messed around with a money blog and a current events blog, but I am pretty confident that my current Tech blog is the niche I fit best in. I enjoy posting a lot more.
I have also tried many different niches. I have found a few I am quite comfortable and proficient in (this being one of them). Honestly, if you never try, you never succeed… everyone should test out a few niches and see which they fit into best.
Very true! Good tips for any blogger.
