“Doing” Is The Only Way To Make Money Online

People read this blog to learn how to make money online among other things. I would wager 99.9% of you want to earn money online. Well, I’m here to tell you it’s definitely possible. That being said, there is a big but after that sentence. That but, is if you actually do it.

It’s okay to listen to advice all day but if you don’t put it into action, it’s wasted on you. There is a ton of great information that can really show you step by step how to earn online as well as tips to optimize those earnings. You can be a sponge and soak up information for a while, but to actually earn you have to go out and do it.

If you’ll notice, the successful people are those that work hard. They are the people that aren’t afraid to take risks and actually do things. No one got rich by sitting there reading information. They made money by acting on that information. They went out and actually took action, and that action paid off.

All the people I’ve personally seen rise and make money on the web successfully have put in work and effort. People think money just flows on the web with no work (hence why the biz opp and make money online niches really thrive). The truth is, with the web, like anything, you have to put work in to get returns.

Sure there are a few cases where people have got really lucky, but for the majority of people out there like me and you, the only way to achieve that goal of sitting at home and earning money is work.

Get motivated and get out there. So what are you waiting for, get out there and put that knowledge you’ve been amassing to use if you already haven’t. There is no better way to earn (and to learn) than by actually just doing it!

I came across your blog and I have to say that I really enjoy it. You look like you write very good articles and are very good about getting them out every one or two days. You will not be someone that I will be recruiting to be part of my blogging school. However, I might ask you to take a free ride at blogging school and review it. I will continue to read your blog and comment as I see fit. Keep on keeping on.

This is so true. It seems to be the mantra around the blogosphere that I am travelling…ACTION!!

You can learn until you are blue in the face, but unless you put it to work, then you will never game from it.

This reminds me about a quote I think Mark Twain said, “The man who doesn’t read has no advantage over one who can’t read.”

That is the truth, but let’s apply it to the MMO crowd.

“A blogger who doesn’t act has no advantage over one that doesn’t have a blog.” - Freddie Taylor

LOL! I just coined a phrase and think I am going to run with it. It’s funny, but soooooo true.

Good stuff!

Nice phrase, good adaptation.

You’re right, the MMO crowd is full of people with tonnes of knowledge but never put it into practice, PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH!

I think the biggest part of my doing lately, is when I’m reading blog posts, I make sure to leave comments. I found a quicker way of getting thru reading the several blogs with Google Reader and only reading the posts that interest me - one effect of doing so, is that I tend to be more inclined to leave comments. I have two parts of “doing” that I need to do more of - create content and of course, promote it.

Enjoying your blog that I’ve just sat to catch up on blogs posts, keep up the good work Mattaw!

This is hitting the nail square on the head. So many people complain about making money online, or ask about it, and then do nothing. You have to Do. This post is so good I linked to it from my blog. Thanks!

Thumbs up on this post!!
I think the inaction may be attributed to a few possible reasons…
1) Fear - of the unknown, of failure, hell…even fear of success can paralyze someone into inaction.
2) Lack of direction - there’s a point where there are TOO MANY choices. There is too much information about how to do this and how to do that and then you think “crap, which way is the right way?” and you don’t make a move at all. Lame but true.
3) Not truly believing it can happen (the money-making part) - you know, the people who WANT to work from home and make a decent living online but they deep-down distrust everything and believe it’s all too good to be true. So they read but don’t act.

To add just one more to what you said. I think another problem is lack of patience. Some people take initial actions to get the ball rolling and when things aren’t progressing fast enough for them they pull the plug.

I realize there is a certain point you have to cut your losses and accept that an idea didn’t work, but you have to have patience also.

@Mattaw: Great motivating post man. It needs to be said over and over for some reason.

@Tina You hit the nail on the head, especially with number 2 and 3. Too many choices which is confusing and also causes scatterbrain. lol.
Sooo many newbies trying to make money also will troll around disbelieving ad spending time arguing ideas without actually “trying them”. It’s odd.

Cheers guys!

For my own personal experience, I attribute the causes of inaction to lack of self confidence and as what Tina has mentioned, also too many choices thus leading to lack of focus.

Procrastination aside, lack of focus is the biggest problem for me but I’m getting better with each month and procrastinate less nowadays. Timely piece of advise.

Great post Mattaw, i personally think it’s a big advantage to think out side the box also, trying things from a different angle combined with some grafting will always get you where you want to go in my opinion.

You can learn a lot off others, but if you’re always copying, you’ll always be second place.

It was a post like this which first motivated me to start my blog, and it’s probably the best move I’ve made. I think it was one of Yaro’s posts.

Action is critical to success.

One of the key factors to my online success has been to focus on building targeted lists that I can market to over and over again. When a new product, offer, or feature is available, I can quickly promote the offer to my lists and will typically see sales within the next few minutes (if I’ve written good copy and have a strong offer).

As for the “hard” work, I think that may be relative. I used to work in construction. THAT was hard work. Making money online requires some studying, some application, some typing, etc…. and there is definitely focus involved. But “hard” … ?

This is the easiest way I’ve ever found to make money online.

Great post Mattaw.

It’s been said before, but it seems some people tend to have to hear things more than once for them to believe it.

Very true and well spoken.

I make a little money online by making websites for people but I would really like to get a product to sell so that I don’t have to work all the time.

I also make a little from my blog, but I really do need to do more.
