Company Showdown #2: MaxBounty vs. MarketLeverage
It has been quite a while since I’ve pitted two companies head to head. In-fact, I’ve only done it once before on this blog. I have decided to pit two of the affiliate companies I use/have used together and honestly critique each one to provide you guys with a indication of what their like, but also a little fun (in seeing who will win). The companies are MaxBounty and MarketLeverage.
Both are CPA (cost per action) companies that offer an array of affiliate marketing. They are both a viable way to monetize your website and the main tool used to grab offers for affiliate marketing. This post will be comparing the companies, and one will emerge victorious.
I’ve decided to change my marking structure to a few core characteristics which are as follows:
Website - this relates to the design of the website as well as the ease of use associated with the website, this is out of ten marks.
Offers - this relates to the diversity of the offers as well as the payout associated with the offers, this is out of ten marks.
Customer service - this is the quality of the customer service associated with the company. This involves hours of availability,
response time and is out of ten marks. Extras - anything above and beyond the basic frame of affiliate
marketing. This is out of five marks.
Total - out of 35 marks
Website
The MaxBounty website is extremely easy to use as soon as you get onto the network. The few qualms I have with it rest in its appearance and
the tabs displayed. Its appearance is a “old school feel” and as a result it doesn’t appear as a “cutting edge” affiliate company. I would recommend MaxBounty looks at redesigning their website with a more “web 2.0″ feel.
In terms of the tabs displayed, the one tab I would like to see in their interface is the affiliates tab. Being able to view your affiliates and their earnings very quickly is a plus for me, and one that needs to be looked for on the MaxBounty network (it isn’t blatantly obvious to find).
Score: 7.5/10
Offers
Maxbounty has an impressive array of offers. It has hundreds of offers in the network and you can find something for anyone in the network. They need to emphasize this more because it is a great factor in the favor of the network.
In terms of payouts, MaxBounty offers some of the top industry payouts. They have matched other offers and actually have beat a few
offers on other top affiliate networks out of the starting gate (they usually match the other affiliate network offers, on a regular basis,
for their offers).
Score: 9/10
Customer Service
MaxBounty has always had exceptional customer service. Their affiliate managers are warm and friendly and always helpful. They also have a
Twitter, Facebook profile, and email updates about offer updates/new offers to keep you in the loop at all times. The one thing I have a
small personal problem with is their hours of affiliate manager availability. I work on my affiliate marketing later in the day (usualy past 4 or 5 PM EST). The problem I have is the MaxBounty affiliate managers go home before then.
This is a problem for myself, because I enjoy talking one on one will my affiliate managers, but also because most other companies I deal
with have their affiliate managers available until around 5 or 6 EST.This should be examined by the network and possibly fixed to better
serve their affiliates.
Score: 8/10
Extras
MaxBounty has a few great extras that are a definite plus. They offer a referral program that is an industry leading program. They offer 5%
of all referred affiliates earnings for publishers referred (for a year). They also offer $100 per advertiser you refer to them as soon as their first
campaign goes live.

Website
MarketLeverage recently re-did their website to upgrade it to a sleek new design that looks great. The layout is fairly easy to use and
their navigation isn’t that hard to use. The few things I would remark on are the fact that they boast about a
publisher reward program and affiliate program, yet these do not have their own tabs in the interface. The publisher rewards program should
at least be put into their “tools” section, and the affiliate program should be moved to its own tab (the same recommendation as given to MaxBounty).
Score: 8.5/10
Offers
MarketLeverage also has a great array of offers. In terms of payouts, MarketLeverage usually pays on par with the industry payouts or above.
They do try and match the same offers on other networks that have payouts that are any higher than theirs.
Score: 8.5/10
Customer Service
This is one field where MarketLeverage really excels. Their affiliate managers are there really early, and leave super late (frequently past
6 pm EST). They also are fast to answer any questions and their response time is phenomenal. Not only do they answer questions
extremely well but they give you that little bit of extra attention that makes you feel great and puts a nice little spin on top. They
also send out new updates almost daily about the new offers they have added and changes to payouts.
One recommendation I would have them implement is making their social profiles more noticeable. This would allow some affiliates to follow them more easily (via mobile perhaps), and increase the lines off communication with the publishers.
Score: 9/10
Extras
This is another field where MarketLeverage excels. They have all sorts of great extras. One is their sending of their affiliate checks
by FedEx. This puts a nice touch on it, and also gets you your payments faster. Also they offer a 5% publisher referral program (for life) that is top of the industry as well as a amazing publisher rewards program that gives you free money for earning with them.

Wrap-Up
As you can see MarketLeverage beat out MaxBounty by a small margin. Both are great companies and this was a very close contest. I highly
recommend giving both a go if you’re looking to do anything in the field of affiliate marketing.

This is a GREAT post - thanks! Not only did you compare two equally-suited and long-standing CPA networks in the biz, but you also let us know the areas that we’re lacking in from a publisher’s perspective. Thank you for the excellent review and suggestions, and as always, feel free to let us know about any other suggestions you may have for us - there’s always room to improve!

Outstanding review as stated before of the top two CPA networks. I think you nailed this one down perfectly.
I am looking forward to the upcoming innovation by both networks. Their past hard work has made them what they are and surely they will continue to capitalize from suggestions like these. Everyone Wins.

@ Debby and Erick - I find honestly to be an effective tool. There is no use buttering up something bad, because in the end it will need to be fixed anyways. Glad I could help.
@ Ben - Thanks buddy. I also feel both networks will continue the excellence that has got them to this point so far.
Thanks for the review Matt, keep us posted with more reviews.
