$250 Cash For Free and Keeping Up Buzz For Your Start Up

I swear, this is the last thing about BlogGears I’ll mention for a while but I thought you guys would appreciate me mentioning the chance to win $250 cash. That’s right you heard me, $250 CASH.

We’ve just launched a brand new BlogGears contest. Entry is extremely simple and full details can be found here.

Keeping Up Buzz For Your Start Up(The Other Stuff)

Ok, Ok, so with that out of the way, let’s get on to talking about maintaining the buzz. So, once your start up has got that initial buzz boost, how do you keep it going. If you don’t keep it going, you will quickly see traffic drop, interest fade and your startup have a hard time recovering.

The key here is to maintain a level of buzz that will allow you to get to the critical mass of members (or content) so that your startup will skyrocket up into a extremely successful website.

Below I will outline three tactics you can use to maintain buzz.

Contests – Contests are a great way to keep up momentum. Once the buzz is already there a contest can really skyrocket the buzz into a frenzy. A well timed contest with great prizes can be the boost your site needs to make it in the long term.

Partnerships – Short term or long term strategic partnerships are a great way to keep momentum going. If you can partner with an existing entity that has a lot of traffic and/or influence in your target market, you will see the momentum of your website keep up. The only problem here is that you will have to give away something in the deal to the partner. You will have to negotiate what that is.

Think Outside The Box – by trying to come up with new innovative ways to promote your website, you may hit the jackpot. You may want to try some kind of cool widget, viral video or other kind of promotion technique. If you do these techniques, you should try to put a twist on it. Make it different from the others while still using the old tried and tested promotion ways that have been proved to work. By doing this you are using something that will bring you buzz, but in the eyes of the public will still seem new and fresh.

These are three of the easiest and most effective ways to not just keep a start-up growing but also help a somewhat ailing blog kick the downward trend and start back into positive growth territory.

The trick is always to diversify the use of these methods with a bit of luck and good timing you can make the change to a positive one. The only thing I would add is to make sure your spending as much time on content as you are promotion and on promotion as you are on content.

Stop saying $250, haha, it’s impossible to win $250 in that contest. The top prize is $150, so the most you can win is $150, not $250.

See how confused you got everyone here?
